Make gifts

Since the holidays are around, how about you let the kids choose gifts for their cousins?

If you want to make something different this year, you can ask them to make gifts instead of buying them from the store.

This will bring out their creativity and will give them a chance to make something of their own.

There is nothing like a handmade gift from the little ones.

Even if it is a card, a signature on the card, or a small trinket, it will mean a lot more to the receiver than the store-bought gift.

You can give them ornaments or kits from Epson pigment ink to make their own, unique gifts.

There is plenty of room to get creative with ideas here and they can create anything they feel like.

As they get older, they may want to create something personalized for the people they love and they can use the same tools or get into more crafting and painting to create a gift.

It is a great way to build creativity and help them develop emotionally.

Teach them to Build Toys

Introduce building blocks or Legos to your kids and teach them basic problem-solving skills.

It will allow them to stretch their imagination and try different things.

When they play with building toys, allow them enough time for free play but also challenge them to build something new.

If your kid loves cars, you can get them a Lego car kit and ask them to build a dream car.

Do not judge on what they create and do not teach them what should and should not be a part of the car.

Just give them an end goal and let them come up with a plan to build what they want with what they have.

It will teach them problem solving skills as they learn to create the car they have in mind.

Give them enough space for free and imaginative play but also challenge them on occasion to keep them engaged and thinking.

Let them Cook

Cooking with kids can be stressful and chaotic but it is a way of teaching them an important life skill and it will also enhance their abilities to solve problems creatively.

You can start with easy recipes when the kids are young like baked goods.

The best way to start is by cooking something that they love to eat.

Muffins can be easy to make and there is not a lot of heating involved in making them, so they are fairly safe.

You also get to introduce the concept of new dishes when you cook with them.

As they get older, you can introduce them to complex recipes that may require more skills.

It will take more time to cook with them but it will be worthwhile to see them learn and grow.

It is an activity that everyone can enjoy, no matter the age.

Make art with them

The best way to build a creative environment is to make art with your kids.

It is a great way to express yourself and to improve your creative skills.

Not many are aware that art can enhance fine motor skills and allow them to explore imagination.

Stock up on various art supplies and encourage kids to use them in many different combinations.

They can come up with art projects of their choice and you can then hang their work of art on a wall in their room.

You can also sign up for art classes with your child, it is a good way to bond with them while learning something new.
