DIY Beauty Hacks Every Girl Should Know
Shave your legs in cold water.
The cold water raises the hair on your legs, giving you a much closer shave.
- Tip. If you run out of shaving cream you can use conditioner instead. Just make sure you rinse the razor well afterwards as conditioner can clog up the razors.
Apply mascara while blinking.
Hold your mascara wand to the base of your lid, as you normally would when apply mascara.
Rather than struggling to keep your eye open while moving your wand around, hold the wand in place and slowly close your eye.
Do this for the middle and inner corners of your top lashes.
This gives you a closer and more accurate sweep, leaving your lashes looking fuller and longer!
It also prevents you from getting mascara on your face!
Flip those bobby pins around.
If you’ve been sticking these pins in your hair “flat side down” then you are all wrong.
The ridged side of the pin should face your head. This is what holds the pin in place. You’re welcome.
Braid your hair to create beach waves.
Braid your hair into a nice (and tight) braid before bed.
Spray the braid with mousses and go to sleep.
When you wake up and undo your braid, your hair will have GORGEOUS and surprisingly natural looking beach waves.
For tighter waves, do two braids.
Curl your hair with your straightener.
It sounds funny, but it’s possible and very easy.
Grab a strip of hair, slide your straightener to the middle, flip it over, and pull it down as if you were straightening your hair.
You will have a nice spiral curl!
- Make sure you hair straightener is in good working condition.
Keep your zipper up with a key ring.
I always seem to buy the “dud” jeans. You know, the ones that have a zipper that refuses to stay up.
I decided to improvise by taking a small key ring, looping my zipper through it, and connecting it to my button.
You cannot see the key ring and your zipper will not fall down.
It’s easy and only needs to be done once.
You can leave them on the jeans with the dud zipper.
Apply white nail polish to make your nail color pop.
Use white as a base coat, let it dry, and then apply your sheer color to make it POP!
The color will be as bright as it looks in the bottle.
You can do the same with eyeshadow!
Apply a base white color and tada- bright eyes and nails!
Use your eyeshadow as eyeliner.
I have done this for as long as I remember.
Eyeshadow can be used for many things.
Just use an eyeliner brush, sweep it over the shadow, and apply it as eyeliner.
It’s as simple as that!
Heat your eyeliner pencil with a light for a more bold look.
This is another beauty hack that I have used since I was a teenager.
I usually had cheap eye pencils that were a pain to apply.
I would grab a lighter, heat the end, let it cool, and apply! The eyeliner looks so dark and beautiful.
Be careful not to apply it while it’s too hot or it will smudge.
- Tip: When heated the eyeliner will darken a bit. Use a shade lighter than you want.
Get rid of dark circles with orange lipstick.
If you have those dreadful dark circles under your eyes, you can conceal them with orange lipstick.
Just dab the lipstick under your eye, blend it with a concealer brush or with your ring finger, and apply your foundation over it.
You’d be surprised by the results!
The orange contrasts the black/purple leaving your skin with a more even tone!
The biggest Beauty Hacks Every Girl Should Know of all is to properly take care of your beauty items.
By preventing your eyeshadows from breaking or your nail polish from drying out you will save a lot of money.

The only way I can get my daughter’s hair to curl is to use a straightener! I’ve tried numerous curling irons on her beautiful hair and nothing. The straightener worked like a charm. 🙂 Thanks for the great tips.
