Delegate Tasks

Delegation refers to the act or process of entrusting specific tasks or assignments to others.

Because you want to go on vacation, you cannot handle your workload for the duration, meaning you need to request someone else to manage any necessary projects. The job is easy if you are not a manager because your team leader should handle it for you.

However, if you are in a leadership role, you must act responsibly and delegate your existing workload, ensuring the office and any clients don’t suffer from your absence.

The key to identifying a delegate is to search for responsible people on your team who can manage the extra workload. You must undoubtedly have one or two people you trust to turn in projects or assignments on time. They typically manage deadlines well and don’t struggle or cringe at the prospect of more responsibility.

Once you identify a few people, you can divvy up your responsibilities. You must ensure that no one person ends up with your entire project load because this would be like asking them to work two full-time positions, which is unfair.
