Not everyone likes to bake from scratch, so it is nice to have a few semi-homemade recipes in your arsenal.  

Of course, it never hurts if they are healthy and taste great!

Close your eyes and imagine for a moment the smell of warm banana and chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven.

And you are the only one that knows they are cooling on the counter . . . don’t burn your tongue. 

 

Low Fat Semi Homemade Banana Chip Cookies Recipe

Here is the trick: 

Ingredients:

1 pouch chocolate chip muffin mix

1/4 cup water

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

2 mashed bananas

 

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350. 

Mash the bananas in a large bowl.  

Add the water and beat with an electric mixer on high until smooth. 

Add the pouch of muffin mix and additional baking powder.  

Hand mix until most of the dry ingredients is combined, then finish with the electric mixer on low.  

Grease a cookie sheet with your choice of non stick spray or butter.  

Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the cookie sheets.  

Batter will be thick and cookies do not spread, they puff up. 

Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown on the top.
