There are some nights during the week that require fast and easy dinners in our home.

These 30 minute Sloppy Joes are my go-to when we have to have dinner and be out of the house within an hour.

A one pan wonder dinner, these 30 minute Sloppy Joes are packed full of flavor and take minutes to make.

Serve with a side salad, or fresh veggies. We love peppers, carrot sticks and frozen peas (yes, frozen peas).

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 medium onion; chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper; chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 – 398 ml can tomato sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 6 kaiser buns

Preparation

In a large frying pan brown the ground beef in the canola oil. Stir in the brown sugar, onions, red pepper and spices, and continue to cook until the meat is no longer pink.

Add in the vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce and paste and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

This cooking with allow the mixture to thicken.

Serve on a kaiser bun, and feel free to top with cheese or anything other desired topping.

I love to serve these 30 minute Sloppy Joes with a sprinkle of grated cheese, and some veggies.

So if you want to kick it up a notch, try adding some Frank’s hot sauce to the mixture, or you could add diced jalapeno.

Enjoy!
