Rice Krispie Pumpkins
Ingredients
- 3 tbspn butter
- 1 package, about 40, large marshmallows
- 6 cups rice krispie cereal
- orange food coloring, or, red and yellow
- 3 long green licorice, cut into 2-3″ pieces
- long pretzels for stems (alternatively you could use mini Rollo or chunks of chocolate!)
- 1/4 cup chocolate melts for faces
- wax paper
- skewer
Directions
Melt the butter in a large pot on med heat.
And once butter has melted add in all of the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted.
Add in your orange food coloring or about 15 drops of yellow and five drops of red.
Mix until the color is smooth and remove from the heat.
The next step, add your rice cereal and mix until all the cereal is coated in marshmallow.
Butter your hands then grab a ball of your marshmallow cereal and form it into the shape of a ball and place on waxed paper.
Repeat until it’s all used up
Using your bamboo skewer poke a hole into the top of the marshmallow ball.
Cut your green licorice into 2″ strips and place it inside of the hole.
Next make another hole right beside it for your pretzel.
Alternatively you could use any item that is small and the color of a stem!
Melt the chocolate melts in a small pan, once melted remove from heat and let it cool slightly before placing it into a small baggy.
Snip the very tip off of the baggy and use this to design the faces on your pumpkins!
Finally you can also use this chocolate to secure your mini Rollo pieces to the top for your stem, or any other item that may fall off.
Enjoy!
