Mason jars are super popular right now and fairly inexpensive! I just love them! You can find them in lots of shapes and sizes as well. I found this really cool DIY project for a hanging polka-dot mason jar and altered it a little bit.
DIY Hanging Polka-Dot Mason Jar Lantern
I actually had several mason jars around the house that I was going to use for another project and decided not to. So, they were perfect for this one. I chose to just make one lantern because I live in an apartment and don’t have a lot of room outside on my balcony for more. However, if you have a nice backyard, it would be super cute to make several and hang them from a tree or maybe along a fence or from shepherd hooks.
Here are the supplies you need:
Spray paint (I used Metallic Silver)
Mason jar (or jars)
Circle Stickers
Metal Mason Jar Hangers
Flameless Tealights
Before you begin, wash the mason jar (or jars) with soap and water and dry them thoroughly.
Next, place the circle stickers on the jar. I just placed the stickers on randomly.
After I put the stickers on, I laid down newspaper and followed the directions on the spray paint can. I sprayed an even coat of paint on the jar and let it dry.
Once you’ve allowed the paint to dry, peel the stickers off of the jar.
Next, attach the metal jar hanger.
Pop in your flameless tealight, and light up those warm, summer evenings.
So, what do y’all think? Do you love it?!
