Easy Homemade Miso Soup

I love finding recipes to some of my favorite take out foods. When my friend posted her recipe for homemade miso soup, I couldn’t resist. I ran out and purchased what I needed and made it the next day. 

This homemade miso soup is so easy to make – only requiring four ingredients and it can be made in about 15 minutes.

You can add additional veggies to it, or cooked rice if you like, but I like the standard soup. Lots of flavour, and it’s pretty darn healthy too. 

It stood up to my taste tester, and will be made again and again. It’s that good.

Easy Homemade Miso Soup

What you will need: (Serves four)

  • 3 Tbsp. miso paste (soy bean paste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 green onions; chopped
  • 115 g medium/firm tofu diced into cubes

In a large saucepan add water and bring to a boil. Whisk in miso paste. 

Add in chopped green onions and tofu and simmer on medium/low heat for about 10 minutes.

Serve.
