Quick And Easy Mushroom Appetizers

 

Mushrooms have always made great appetizers because they are bite-sized and you can do so much with them.

The trick is not to stand over a hot stove all day whipping up appetizers.

Here are some quick and easy mushrooms appetizers.

 

Quick And Easy Mushroom Appetizers

Oriental Mushrooms

Makes 8 servings

These mushrooms are tasty and very easy to make.

Ingredients:

¼ cup of olive oil

¼ cup of vinegar

2 tablespoons of soy sauce

2 tablespoons of garlic, chopped

1 pound of mushrooms, cleaned and washed

2 tablespoons of green onions, sliced thin

Directions:

In a saucepan, over medium heat, combine olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and mushrooms.

Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low.

Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is gone.

Allow to cool for 10 minutes, strain the liquid and place mushrooms on a platter, top with green onions and serve with toothpicks.

 

Traditional Stuffed Mushrooms

Makes 4 servings

Great appetizer to serve at your next party.

Ingredients:

20 mushrooms, stems and cores removed

¾ pounds of ground sausage, you can use Italian, spicy or any other kind

1 8-ounce package of cream cheese, softened

3 green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

On a cookie sheet, place the mushrooms top side down.

In a frying pan, over medium-high heat, fry the sausage until thoroughly cooked.

In a bowl, combine the sausage with the green onions, cream cheese and soy sauce, until mixed well.

Spoon this mixture into the mushrooms and bake for 20-30 minutes.

 

Bread Squares with Cheese and Mushrooms

Makes 12 servings

Yum: Bread, cheese and mushrooms…enough said!

Ingredients:

1 loaf of Italian bread

½ cup of butter, softened

1 pound of fresh mushrooms, sliced

2 cups of mozzarella cheese, shredded

6 green onions, chopped

3 cloves of garlic, minced

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Slice the loaf of Italian bread in half horizontally.

Pull out most of the bread with your fingers so that it forms a hollow shell.

In a bowl, combine the butter, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, green onions and garlic cloves and combine until blended well.

Spread the mixture onto both sides of the bread.

On a baking sheet, place the two bread halves and bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese has melted.

Allow to cool and then slice in smaller pieces to serve.
