Southwestern Breakfast Bake
Breakfast is never easy. When you are trying to mix things up and perhaps spice things up, try this breakfast bake for your family. Perfect for breakfast, brunch or even, gasp, dinner?
Ingredients
8-10 oz Bulk Breakfast Sausage (or remove from the casings)
1/2 each green and orange (or red) bell pepper, diced
1/2 Yellow Onion, diced
2 Eggs
1/4 Cup Milk
1 Loaf frozen bread dough, thawed and proofed (ready to bake)
1/4 Teaspoon each Salt & Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 Cup Shredded Cheddar
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350
Cut the proofed bread dough into pieces and roll into balls
Place in a buttered casserole dish, bake for 10 minutes
Brown the sausage, peppers and onions until cooked through
Whisk the egg and milk together with the salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder
Remove the casserole dish from the oven
Spoon the sausage and peppers mixture oven the bread
Pour the egg over everything and top with cheese
Bake for about 20 minutes , or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean of any raw egg
