Crispy, crunchy and oh so delicious, this is the best deep fried mushrooms recipe and makes a great appetizer, or side dish for the upcoming holiday season.
I’m one of those people who love to create my own finger foods, and these deep fried mushrooms will be on the easy recipes menu for years to come.
Fresh white button mushrooms, lightly battered and fried to a golden perfection.
Serve them up with your favorite dipping sauce and watch your guests chow down.

Deep Fried Mushrooms Recipe
Ingredients:
- 10 – 12 large white button mushrooms; clean mushrooms and trim and slice into 1/4 inch slices
- 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs (regular bread crumbs are fine with your own seasoning like garlic powder, black pepper, lemon pepper and or onion powder)
- Beer batter Option: Add 12 oz of beer
- oil for frying (approx. 3 cups)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp. favorite hot sauce
Directions:
Heat oil over medium heat in a heavy bottom pan (like a cast iron)
Place flour mixture into a separate container and stir so it’s as thick as pancake batter. Set aside.
Add eggs to another shallow bowl and beat them. Place bread crumbs into a third shallow dish and set aside.
Dip mushrooms into the flour mixture, followed by a dip into the egg and then place mushrooms into the breadcrumbs.
Working in small batches, deep fry the mushrooms until golden brown.
Drain on a paper towel.
To make the dipping sauce:
Mix together the mayo and hot sauce and serve with the deep fried mushrooms.

We just cooked these, delicious and so easy! We went for BBQ seasoning and BBQ sauce rather than Italian seasoning and mayo hot sauce, will try that next time!
