I love to cook, but I do not like the mess it leaves. I try to cook with as little pans as possible. One pan or one dish recipes make my heart sing. Less dishes at the end to clean up. One Pan Skillet Unstuffed Peppers is a delicious and easy recipe which your whole family will love. It looks similar enough to regular pasta dishes that even your pickiest eater will be willing to try it.
If you are looking for more one dish recipes, why not try one of these?
Printable recipe is available at the bottom of this post.
One Pan Skillet Unstuffed Peppers
Ingredients
1 Bell Pepper
1 Small Onion
1 Roma or Plum Tomato
1lb Ground Beef (or use a small steak cut into bite-sized chunks)
1 half (or a small) Jar of Pasta Sauce
2 bags of Boil n Bag Rice (Or 2 cups cooked rice)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon basil
Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
TIP* Have a plate or bowl nearby, this is a one skillet dish but you will need to empty it a few times to cook ingredients in steps
First prepare your vegetables by washing, coring and removing seeds
Finely dice the onion and tomatoes, slice the peppers into strips then in 3rds
Heat the skillet to medium-high, add the peppers (do not use butter or oil, this helps them char)
Let them sit for a minute or two until they get a nice color on one side (this just enhances flavor!), remove peppers from skillet, set aside
Brown the ground beef with the onions until fully cooked, drain grease and add tomato, remove the mix from the skillet (put it in a bowl with the peppers for now)
For the rice
You can do the rice one of two ways, either using boil n bag quick rice or precooked rice. Follow the steps below depending on which you use.
Quick rice-Cut open each bag of rice, pour them into the skillet, add 1 cup water and ½ of the pasta sauce. Bring to a boil, stir, reduce and simmer until rice is tender.
Precooked rice-Add the rice to the skillet with half of the pasta sauce, slowly heat until warm. Mix well
Once the rice is ready, add the ground beef, onion, tomato and peppers to the skillet with the additional seasonings and pasta sauce.Stir well, salt and pepper to taste. Heat on medium low until warmed through.

This looks like an awesome week night meal! I can’t wait to try it!
I stopped by from Inspiration Monday.
This looks so easy! My husband’s favorite dish is stuffed peppers, but we usually make them on Sunday because they take so long! I’m sure this will be a hit!

Found you Whats Cookin Wednesdays!
Looks delicious! I love stuffed peppers, but this is an even simpler way to get the same flavor. I think I’ll try it with some quinoa and see how that goes. Thanks for the great recipe.
