How To Maximize Your Kid’s Camping Experience

Camping is a great way to disconnect from the fast paced lives that we live. Though this is a great family outing, kids tend to get bored easily especially without their technological devices to keep them entertained. When it comes to making the best out of a tech free environment, here’s how to maximize your kid’s camping experience.

Make Breakfast and Adventure

The first day you arrive, there won’t be much of a chance for fun. Setting up the campsite, pitching the tents, and getting ready for the night is sure to leave the kids a little hesitant. Spice up their experience with a fun jungle breakfast. Hang cereal, juice boxes, and bowls in the trees so your kids have to “hunt” for their breakfast. This starts the fun pace for the day that can only get better.

Give your Kids Choices

Kids are just little people who want great experiences just like adults. Take time talking with your kids about what they want to get out of their camping experience. Give your kids choices on what they can do. Let them choose from things like:

  • Fishing
  • Swimming
  • Hiking
  • Going on a scavenger hunt
  • Animal watching

Schedule Out Your Day

Make a schedule with your kids for the day. Give them something to look forward to throughout the day. Of course keeping to specific times may be hard, but you can plan a few things each day to do before the sun goes down. Hanging out at the tent all day isn’t going to make experiences. Get out there and experience nature like you never have before.

Camp with Friends

Family camping trips are always fun, but camping alongside friends is sure to bring out the kids’ wild side. They will have other kids to play with, take adventures with, and tell scary stories to. Make your camping trip that much more fun by camping with friends.

Bring Games to Play

As dusk sets in and the sun falls from the sky, you will want to head back to the tent. Just because the day has come to an end doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Bring fun evening games for your kids to enjoy such as:

  • Glow in the dark Frisbees. My kids love playing Frisbee, but it is even more fun to play it in the dark.
  • Capture the flag glow sticks. Play a good game of capture the flag. Who is going to win; kids or adults?
  • KillerSpin MyT Lee Mini Ping Pong Table. This is a child sized table that folds up tiny to fit in your car. It comes assembled and ready to play. The KillerSpin MyT pool table is a great game to play together as a family. Then once the kids go to bed, it can become a great game of beer pong for the adults. Durable and compact, the fun of table tennis can come with you for a great camping experience.
