Get professional help

While a lot of spring cleaning entails things that you can do on your own, there are a few things that you may not be able to do as well as a professional.

For example, you can easily clean your carpets by washing them by hand or even getting a carpet cleaner.

But no matter what you do, your carpets will likely look better if you get a professional cleaning service.

Make a schedule

It may be tempting to squeeze all of your spring cleaning to-do lists into one day.

I’m not a fan of this approach because you’ll likely start to burn out and start slacking off towards the end.

Make a schedule of what you want to do each day, and spread it out over a few days, or even a week.

Doing one room a day will allow you to do a more thorough job than if you were rushing it.

You can even use a free schedule maker if you want to plan out how much time you want to spend on each activity.

Do it more often

The name spring cleaning implies that this is something that should be done during springtime.

But the truth is that you should spring clean every few months for maximum efficiency.

If you don’t, the dirt will just build up and you’ll have a much harder time getting everything in order.

A more regular cleaning schedule will allow you to do things more effectively.

Certain areas in your house will need to be cleaned more often than others.

So it’s a good idea to know how often everything in your house needs to be cleaned so that you know when to spring clean.

Get everyone in the house involved

If you’re not the only one living there, it’s not fair that you’re the only one spring cleaning.

Get everyone else involved!

This will make the task much easier, and it may even go by quicker if you have company while you clean.

If you have young children, it’s also a great way of introducing them to chores.

You may find that having too many people cleaning in the same area at once can lead to everyone being under everyone else’s feet.

So it’s a great idea to have each family member work in a different room.
