Are you a parent of a child with eczema?

It’s heartbreaking to watch if you ask me.

You will see rough and dry skin and often cracked skin.

What is Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)?

Atopic Dermatitis or more commonly known as Eczema is a skin condition that affected areas of skin have the following symptoms; appear red skin colour, rough skin texture and cracked.

The afflicted individual experiences inflamed itchy skin or sometimes described as an itchy rash and it can be very difficult to get relief from the severe itching

How do you Diagnose Eczema?

I was told by my Doctor Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema is very common in young children and that a lab test is not required and that a visual exam is normally all that is needed for an accurate diagnosis and create a plan around treatment options.

Your Doctor may ask you if you changed your laundry detergent recently, or started using a new hair product, or if your baby has come into contact with a new metal in the form of jewelry or phone etc etc. to determine if your child is experiencing an allergic reaction causing sensitive skin.

Your Doctor may want to perform a more in depth analysis using a skin patch tests of common eczema triggers to determine what your Baby is allergic to so you can eliminate a possible future eczema rash.

What Causes Atopic Eczema or Triggers Eczema Flare-Ups?

Most sources I have read refer to clinical trial proof that the cause or common triggers are food allergies, common household cleaners (like laundry detergent), natural allergens (like pollen, pet dander and dust mites), metal objects (found in jewelry, mobile phones), rubber products (if you wear gloves or use elastic bands to hold objects together), perfumes or fragrances (like soaps that are not fragrance-free).

Eczema can become a chronic skin condition so it’s important to start an effective treatment plan immediately.

Ways to Calm Eczema Symptoms in Babies

When my kids get an eczema flare, I want to do everything I can to help make it go away.

Often Doctors will suggest prescription medications like topical corticosteroids.

I have learned that Baby eczema cream containing drugs called Calcineurin Inhibitors will suppress the immune system which reduces inflammation and helps prevent eczema flare-ups.

So I am not sure I like topical calcineurin inhibitors but be sure to discuss this option with your Doctor.

Here are some ways we have learned to calm eczema symptoms in Babies:

Changing Your Baby’s Diet

Sometimes when it comes down to eczema, the baby’s diet could be causing eczema side effects..

In some instances a lot of dairy can cause eczema or symptoms of eczema.

By simply eliminating dairy or whatever other food is the culprit, your baby can experience some mild relief from their dry and rough skin.

If this works you may want to work with your Doctor to create a supervised elimination diet to monitor the elimination of certain foods.

Increase Probiotics

When it comes down to probiotics helping with your baby’s eczema, you may wonder HOW this can work.

Well, probiotics are the “good bacteria” in your body.

Somehow getting that good bacteria buildup in your baby’s body can help ward off the itchiness and inflammation.

Oatmeal Baths

My kids have always loved this flare treatment cure for eczema.

While oatmeal doesn’t always take the eczema symptoms away, it does help relieve the symptoms.

By placing oatmeal in warm bath water, your baby will experience some relief.

Avoid giving hot baths too often as they dry the skin and causes more irritation.

Before you do this ask your Doctor or other experts.

Don’t use scented soaps as the perfume or scented chemicals are often a trigger to cause eczema flare-ups.

Nutratopic Remedies

This is a favorite way to help cure eczema symptoms in babies around here.

I have personally used the emollient cream (kids) and the infant facial cream from Nutratopic on our kids.

I’ve noticed that both creams have helped control the eczema symptoms and break the cycle.

But don’t take my word for it, take a look at these before and after shots.

The results are astounding.

As a topical medication the Nutratopic baby eczema cream also hydrates the skin, which restores barrier function, reinforcing the lipid mantle though the use of ceramides, omega-6, and L-isoleucine.

I personally noticed significant changes; my kids are itching a lot less and that Nutratopic also helps inhibits the risk of bacterial adhesion.

Their skin is clear and smooth, for the first time in a long time.

Dealing with eczema has changed in our household.

While we can’t always prevent eczema, there are ways to help control it and in some cases, cure it.

Thankfully, a mixture of the aforementioned tips and our eczema is under control.

So to Summarize Ways to Calm Eczema Symptoms in Babies:
