Tips On Brushing Your Teeth For Kids
Getting my kids to brush their teeth hasn’t always been easy. In fact, when they were little, it was a battle. As they have gotten older, getting them to brush their teeth has gotten easier. I know I’m not the only parent out there who has struggled to get their kids to brush their teeth, which is why I wanted to share these tips.
Tips On Brushing Your Teeth For Kids
Start brushing early
When my kids were little, I used to start brushing their teeth at around age 1 with a toothbrush. I figured the earlier I introduced the toothbrush, the better. Each kid was different, but for the most part, early introduction did work.
Brush your teeth around your child
Most kids watch what their parents do, very carefully. Set a good example for your kids, by brushing in front of them. In fact, you can make it a whole family affair! Brushing teeth is a healthy habit the whole family can do together.
Use toothbrushes they will love
Around our house, we use Firefly products! They create oral hygiene products for kids. Whether it’s a toothbrush you need or rinse, they have you covered. They have created fun characters for your kids to enjoy as they brush! Check out the characters they offer: Hello Kitty, Star Wars, Marvel Heroes, Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory. My kids personally love the The Star Wars Lightsaber Toothbrush and the 3D Sculpted Handle Stormtrooper Toothbrush because they look like toys! Similarly, there are also other Star Wars characters ( Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Kylo Ren and Rey) that light up and have voice commands.

Get your kids excited about brushing their teeth
I have noticed that my excitement rubs off on my kids. When I am excited to brush my teeth, they are excited to do so! You can encourage your kids to be lifelong brushers by encouraging them to be independent with their tooth brushing. When they feel independent, they want to continue to do it. Firefly has created products like, Firefly Fun Pump Rinses, to help kids be able to “do it themselves.”

Thanks for sharing this blog. This will surely help parents encourage their kids to properly brush their teeth. We, Brushie Team, also has the same passion for dental care. Brushies makes healthy habits and confident smiles a game they won’t want to put down. Let’s face it, tooth brushing time is not the most highly anticipated moment in a child’s day. When we ask them to stop what they are doing to brush their teeth, we parents make matters worse we ask them to do it properly and for a whole two minutes. The Brushies team has designed a loophole to this universal parental problem. Instead of asking kids to stop what they are doing to brush, we invite them to engage in a fun and exciting game WHILE they brush! With a long battery life, your child can engage in maximum smileage without pesky interruptions.
