It seems that bacon goes well with most anything these days. I mean, who doesn’t love bacon? Bacon makes great appetizers because the smokiness and the saltiness spruces up your taste buds for the meal ahead. Here are some of the best bacon-wrapped appetizers.

Hot Dogs Wrapped in Bacon– Makes 18 servings

Bacon and hot dogs make an amazing combination and your guests will devour them in no time.


9 slices of bacon, halved

6 regular beef hot dogs, cut into three pieces

1/3 cup of brown sugar

¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper


Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wrap ½ slice of bacon around each hot dog chunk. In a bowl, add brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Roll the bacon wrapped hot dogs into the brown sugar mixture and coat evenly. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the hot dog pieces, with the seam of the bacon side down and bake for 22-24 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

Scallops Wrapped in Bacon– Makes 8 servings

1 pound of bacon

1 pound of sea scallops

1 cup of barbecue sauce

½ teaspoon of black pepper


Set your grill to medium-high heat. Microwave bacon on a paper towel-lined plate for 2 ½ minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and then wrap one slice of bacon around a scallop. Using 4 skewers, add 3-4 scallops on each skewer, brush with barbecue sauce, sprinkle with black pepper and grill for 7-8 minutes, or until bacon is crispy.

Crackers Wrapped in Bacon– Makes 16 servings

Crackers wrapped in bacon are crispy, full of flavor and delicious.


1 package of Club crackers

1 pound of bacon, halved

Parmesan cheese


Preheat oven to 250 degrees. On a cookie sheet, place a layer of crackers and sprinkle each cracker with Parmesan cheese. Wrap each half slice of bacon around one cracker so it is tight and do this with all the crackers. Bake for 2 hours.
