Sweet and Spicy Drunken Ribs are a great way to build a better meal without exerting much more effort on your part.
Summer barbecues sometimes demand heartier fare than the standard burgers and hot dogs.
Toss ingredients together and allow flavors to combine while you put together a couple sides.
These ribs are delicious served with mashed potatoes, potato salad, pasta salads, mac n’ cheese, and veggies.
I use a spiced but you can use any flavor that you choose.
The alcohol cooks out and while the flavor is altered after cooking it is still a prominent “seasoning” in this dish.
So make sure it is a quality of rum you would drink.
Sweet And Spicy Drunken Ribs
Ingredients:
2 lbs. Pork ribs
¼ cup Sweet Chili sauce
½ cup rum
¼ cup Balsamic vinegar
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tsp. Dry ground mustard
½ tsp. Chili powder
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a gallon zip storage bag, massage bag gently to mix well.
Allow ribs to marinate for a minimum of 2 hours- overnight.
Remove ribs from bag-place over low heat on a gas or charcoal grill.
Cook until desired doneness is reached- ideal internal temperature for pork is 145°.
Allow your ribs to rest for 3-5 minutes before eating.
These can be made with bone-in or boneless ribs.
