Summer barbecues sometimes demand heartier fare than the standard burgers and hot dogs.

Toss ingredients together and allow flavors to combine while you put together a couple sides.

These ribs are delicious served with mashed potatoes, potato salad, pasta salads, mac n’ cheese, and veggies.

I use a spiced but you can use any flavor that you choose.

The alcohol cooks out and while the flavor is altered after cooking it is still a prominent “seasoning” in this dish.

So make sure it is a quality of rum you would drink.

Sweet And Spicy Drunken Ribs

Ingredients:

2 lbs. Pork ribs
¼ cup Sweet Chili sauce
½ cup rum
¼ cup Balsamic vinegar
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tsp. Dry ground mustard
½ tsp. Chili powder
2 cloves garlic, crushed

Sweet N’ Spicy Drunken Ribs

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a gallon zip storage bag, massage bag gently to mix well.
Allow ribs to marinate for a minimum of 2 hours- overnight.
Remove ribs from bag-place over low heat on a gas or charcoal grill.
Cook until desired doneness is reached- ideal internal temperature for pork is 145°.
Allow your ribs to rest for 3-5 minutes before eating.

These can be made with bone-in or boneless ribs.
