Every year whenever we have a family get together or party I force my mom to make her amazing Shrimp Chip Dip. If you are looking for a recipe that is low fat and super healthy then this is not the recipe for you. Shrimp Chip Dip is a delicious indulgence.
What makes this recipe so easy is that there is no exact way to make it. You can add as much or as little of the ingredients as you want. Customize your Shrimp Chip Dip to your tastes. To make a vegetarian friendly version just omit the shrimp. The recipe is also very scaleable. Make as much or as little as you like.
Ingredients
- Sour Cream – I use 5% but full fat works well. I do not recommend fat free as it doesn’t taste as good.
- Mayonnaise
- Cream Cheese – Again go for the original version.
- Seafood Sauce
- Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
- Shrimp (cooked and without tails)
- Green Pepper (chopped)
- Tomato (chopped)
- Chips. I really like Scoops by Tostitos and that is how we have always enjoyed this dip but regular tortilla style chips would work.
Build Your Dip
- Mix equal parts sour cream, mayonnaise and cream cheese together and spread at the bottom of your pan. To make a 7×5 pan of dip I used 1/2 cup of each.
- On top of your cream cheese mixture spread a layer of seafood sauce. For a super tangy dip make your layer thick.
- Sprinkle shrimp, green peppers and tomato until seafood sauce is covered.
- Next place a layer of mozzarella over your toppings.
- Repeat previous steps until your pan is full or until you are satisfied.
Here we have is. Super easy and yummy Shrimp Chip Dip. This recipe is a huge favourite at my house and I know it will be at yours as well.
