Pot Of Gold Rainbow Craft is a very simple craft perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. Kids can follow the simple instructions to create their own rainbow or you can have the materials ready for them to assemble.
Pot Of Gold Rainbow Craft
Materials
Strips of construction paper in – red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple
Black and yellow craft foam (or paper)
Gold glitter glue
Stapler
Scissors
Cotton balls
Hot glue gun (or tacky glue)
Instructions
Start by bending the red strip of paper into a circle, glue or staple the ends together. Loop the next color through the red circle and glue or staples the ends together. Repeat this process to make a paper circle chain. Here is a great opportunity to teach children the color of the rainbow using “ROY G BIV” – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. We just used purple, but it can still explained!
Cut a cloud shape from the blue paper, glue cotton balls for a fluffy look! Glue this cloud to the top of the paper chain. (red circle)
Cut a “pot” shape from the black foam and gold coins from the yellow craft foam. Glue together. Then , use the hot glue gun to adhere the pot of gold to the bottom of the rainbow. (purple circle)
What an adorable idea! We don’t do a ton of St. Patricks day crafts around the house, but this one looks so cute I just might so it this year!!
