I was wrapping up what felt like a 3 hour grocery shopping trip. This afternoon I had to take all three of my kids with me, something I try to avoid but this day is was unavoidable. As we were just about to leave, this woman came up to me. She had what looked like a 2 year old daughter in the shopping cart and she was wearing her newborn son. I could tell she had a rough day with her babies, she didn’t even have to say anything. I gave her the look, moms you know the look of “I feel your pain, hang in there your doing a great job”sort of look.
She said “How do you do this? You have three I cant even handle these two. You make this look like easy”. I guess she didn’t hear my stern voice EVERY – SINGLE – AISLE not to touch something or keep your hands to yourself we don’t hit each other. She looked at me as I had it all together.
I stood there and giggled! I said “I don’t, being a mom has it’s days. Hang in there!” I left it at that.
Motherhood Is Not Always Easy
To the moms that look at other moms have motherhood all together – we don’t.
There are days when I want to run out of the house screaming.
There are days when I was so tired I gave my kids the wrong lunches and heard about it for weeks that my son was forced to eat what his sister wanted which was gross.
There are days when I question what I am doing wrong.
There are days where I just want to throw in the towel.
Ill say it again – Motherhood is not always easy!
No mom has it all together. What you see on the outside and in my case for a very split second is not always reality. You can’t judge a book by it’s cover.
As I left the store I felt for this mom. We all have a day, okay many days like that. It’s okay! We all get burnt out from time to time.
At the end of the day, I try to remember that I did my best today! Hang in there you rock as a mom, even with these bad days. There is always tomorrow to start fresh!
