Frugal Valentine’s Day Ideas

Here are some romantic yet frugal Valentine’s Day ideas that will not break the bank.

Valentine’s Day is a day of showing the person you love how much they mean to you but sometimes it can get to be expensive.

Putting in that little extra effort doesn’t need to cost a fortune. It’s more about the thought and showing appreciation for your significant other.

Write A Love Note

Simple and romantic.

If you leave before your significant other you can place a note to show how much you care on the bathroom mirror, the alarm clock, anywhere they look during that day.

It’s that little something that shows how much you love them.

Homemade Gifts

Buying chocolates or flowers can get very expensive around Valentine’s Day.

You can get chocolate molds and melting chocolate at most craft stores such as Joann’s or Michael’s and make your own chocolates.

Design them however you’d like for a more personal touch. For flowers consider buying something simpler than roses.

Roses tend to be twice as much if not more on Valentine’s Day. Buying a mixed bouquet of flowers at a grocery store can save you more than a few bucks.

Dinner And Movie At Home

If you have kids this can be a bit tricky. You can wait until they go to bed or see if someone is willing to take them for the night.

Cooking dinner together and settling in with a movie, it’s not only romantic but you do not have to wait a long time for a table.

Making this dinner can be as fancy or as low key as you want, it’s more about the time you are sharing together.

Choose Another Night

If dining out is important decide on another night to celebrate.

By going a few days before or after Valentine’s Day you will miss all the chaos and higher priced meals.

Who said you need to celebrate on the 14th?

You can even make this a tradition by having it on another day, it can always be your own day to celebrate each year.

No matter what budget is remember, it is the thought that counts.

Valentine’s Day does not have to be about gifts, it’s more about showing the one you love how much you love them.

How do you spent Valentine’s day with your significant other?

Do you use frugal Valentine’s Day ideas or go all out?
