Grill Out
I don’t know about you, but grilling always my go to.
Throwing some meat on the grill and pairing with some veggies and fruit is always super fun and easy.
My husband loves to grill and I prep the sides.
It’s a great way to work together as a team.
Any Kind Of Salad
Most people think that salads are boring, but I think they are amazing.
You can do so much with a bed of lettuce.
You could add grilled chicken, steak, or even shredded pork on top of a salad.
When you think salads are boring, it’s time to switch things up a bit.
Meat in the Crockpot
At the end of a long day, I’m always glad that I used my crockpot.
Such an awesome tool, but so simple too!
I love cooking easy and healthy meals in our crockpot.
From soups to roasts, it’s the perfect tool for cooking our favorite meals.
One Of Our Favourite Family Meals
Now that I’ve shared some ideas with you, I want to share our favorite meal around here.
Honey carrots and Chicken Drumsticks.
Both are easy, yummy, and healthy!
This meal I’m about to share with you is something that my daughter LOVES.
These recipes are so simple and so customizable.
Do not be afraid to put in your favourite flavours.
Recipe For Honey Carrots
- Boil a bag of carrots until al dente.
- Drain.
- Mix in a tablespoon of honey.
Recipe For Chicken Drumsticks
- Use drumsticks with skin on it.
- Thaw if frozen.
- Put in a shallow pan.
- Season with salt (I used pink Himalayan Salt but sea salt works too), pepper, and marjoram. Sprinkle on top.
- Use whatever spices you desire.
- Cook at 375 until it’s no longer pink.
- This can take anywhere from 40-50 minutes depending on your oven.
I told you that was easy – I wasn’t lying.

I recently tried the Seeds of Change Quinoa & Brown Rice with Garlic too and I fell in love! I used it in a Mediterranean salad and it was so convenient! Definitely going to keep a few varieties stocked in my pantry.
Ah! I just saw a recipe using seeds of change in a salad but it’s a great idea to add it to chicken too (which is my favourite dish that I make almost nightly). I love how easy it is to make, that it’s nutritious and looks delicious too!
This post makes me HUNGRRYYYY!!! Look at that rice! That is SO up my alley! We love doing salad for dinner, too! Great suggestions! 🙂
I love that this includes pantry and refrigerator staples. I always have rice, chicken, and baby carrots on hand!
I’ll have to look for this next time I’m at the store. I love creating healthy meals for my family.
Yes! Great list here! I’m a huge fan of throwing things in the crock pot -especially now when the thought of turning my oven on makes me cringe!
My family would love this! This would make meal planning a lot easier during the week.
Mmmm honey carrots… sounds sooo good! That rice looks so good and I love that it’s so easy to make!
This looks great. The chicken looks moist and boy I have to say that I am a massive fan of my crock pot too. It saves me time. I will look for these Seeds of Change packages at the grocery store where I am heading in about one hour actually. Fridge is bare. LOL
We use the crockpot all the time for weeknight meals. That way the main is ready, and then you can add in a quick side and dinner is served!
