I love this time of year!
I love to decorate our house on the inside and the outside.
A nicely decorated house tells me that Christmas is just around the corner.
It welcomes friends and family and it lets everyone feel your Christmas Spirit!
Discover how we are decorating your home for Christmas without spending a lot!
This year, my goal was to have a decorated entryway.
I normally decorate the inside, but I tend to not do as much on the outside, but this year would be different!
When I am home, I will often open up the Jo-Ann crafting catalog and find inspiration at the drop of a hat and this year was no different.
Between the catalog and their website with their Christmas Ideas, it wasn’t hard to decide on a project.
I love when stores give back like that!

Decorating Your Home For Christmas Without Spending A Lot
So, once I decided what I wanted to do, I went ahead and bought my materials:
Poinsettia flowers to put by the front door (these are the best kind- they don’t have to be watered!)
New Red bows for the wreaths:
To place the garland around the front door, I twisted the red and gold mesh ribbon around the doorway.
Then I added green last.
Both pictures let you decide which version would work better at your own house. (Try to ignore that materials are still on the ground – I was still in the planning phase for this picture) 😉
Which one do you like better? I still can’t decide!
My neighbor has lime green and red on her house and it is gorgeous, so that’s an option, too!
Moving on… My husband built me the wooden posts to put on either side of the door.
I just used the $4 poinsettia to decorate it
We used some of the left-over red ribbon to intertwine in the wreath that I have on the front door (it has green ribbon on it, as well).
I then bought those red bows pictured above to add to my Christmas Wreaths from last year (the ribbon from eight years ago needed replaced, so these bows were perfect!):
Here is the final project of the house.
The next step is decorating the interior. Our most popular craft is the Easy Ripped Paper Tree.
Another popular craft is our Gingerbread Christmas Ornaments.
And once you have had fun making crafts perhaps it’s time to have a Christmas Fondue Party?
Follow up the party with some tasty Gingerbread Cupcakes for dessert.
What do you do to your house to make it festive and welcoming for Christmas? Wreaths? Lights? Both?

I love the ribbon. I like the colors of all three but I almost wonder if all three are too bulky which is what I like about only having two colors.
You have a beautiful home! I love all of the decorations you have put together it looks so classy. I have to have my wreaths up during Christmas, I love the deep greens and reds during the holidays.
Looks amazing Becky! I think I like all 3 best 🙂
Gorgeous. I like the three ribbons best, but that might just be because I saw it first. :]
This looks amazing. Some serious jealousy in regards to your beautiful home. Happy holiday season to you and yours.
Love Jo-Ann Fabric & the 50% off coupon!
I seriously love the mesh ribbons surrounding your door. We live in a windy area. How could I keep these from just blowing in the wind?
Thanks!
