If you have kids or love to buy clothing, you know how expensive it can be. One shirt at a popular retail store can be anywhere from $20-$50 depending on the name brand. There has to be a better way to afford clothes out there and there is. It’s called buying secondhand.

Here are 5 reasons buying secondhand rocks.
#1. It makes sense budget wise.
When it comes down to buying secondhand, it just makes more cents. Literally! You are savings dollars upon dollars by just buying secondhand. With a little searching, you can find like-new items that are perfect for your family and right in your budget.
#2. Buying secondhand is less stressful.
Buying clothing is stressful. When you buy secondhand, you don’t have to worry about the stress of spending too much money. In fact, it’s less stressful because if it doesn’t fit or doesn’t work out, you are only out a few bucks. Opposed to buying new, which would leave you out hundreds of dollars.
#3. Secondhand shopping allows you to own more.
Instead of buying just a handful of brand new clothing, buying secondhand allows you to have several pieces of clothing. It’s nice to be able to walk into your closet and see several options. Isn’t it? The next time you’re looking to add to your wardrobe secondhand is the way to go.
#4. Secondhand shopping is economical.
Using Swap.com, you can make secondhand clothing shopping economical and frugal. What started from a very simple idea has turned into something even better! Swap.com was first started to help people make a profit from their useful items. Now, Swap.com helps sell your goods and you can also shop for the items you want.
I love how Swap.com does all of the hard work for you and you get to sit back and make money. You actually send your lightly used items into Swap.com and a staff member photographs the items, provides a description, and you even control the pricing. How cool is that? Not only do I love sending in my items, but I also love shopping.
#5. Secondhand shopping with Swap.com saves you up to 95%.
When it comes down to it, saving money is nice, but getting quality items at a great price is even better. Swap.com can help you save up to 95% and that is super awesome.
See, I told you buying secondhand rocks, especially when it’s from Swap.com.

I love buying second hand! We have a few clothing swap groups here in the city and my sister and I do a lot of sharing clothes for our kids!
I’ve bought a few second hand toys. Its so much more economical and you don’t feel as guilty when they’re done with it.
I love buying secondhand and when my kids were little that is how I filled up 80% or more of their wardrobe. Now that they are older it is a little harder and takes a tad bit more work. I have not heard of Swap.com before but will be checking them out because anytime I can shop online and not have to go into a store, I am a happy camper. Who doesn’t love saving money and having more clothes – not me!
Now that I am a more seasoned mom, I know quite a bit about saving money. I buy most stuff for my boys second hand and I am so happy that I do. Not only do I save money, but I’m helping out other families and reducing all of our waste and carbon footprints. Love reselling, too!
I am in so much agreement with you! I have been shopping second hand all my life. I absolutely love the thrill and the surprises you can find at the thrift store! I even got my husband to enjoy it. When we first furnished our house, we used to spend a weekend day shopping the local consignment shops – it was so fun!
We have a ton of amazing second hand shops in my city…but hardly ever go to them! You’ve just reminded me that I have to go and check them out!
I love second hand shopping. I buy my new clothes for my son but what I love about second hand shopping is I can buy these for him to play in. This way I am not worrying about him getting his new clothes dirty. I haven’t tried our Swap yet so I will have to look into that.
When your kids are growing as fast as lightening, it only makes sense to shop secondhand. My kids rarely get much use out of their clothes before it is time to buy new ones. Buying secondhand has saved us thousands over the years!
I definitely do not mind buying secondhand especially when I know that one t-shirt will cost me around $20 bucks and will only be worn a handful of times before we move up to the next size. I think this would be a great option for me and I love that you can sell on there too. Great resource!
